Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria is the second oldest city in Europe founded in the 8th century BC. This enchanting city is named after the Greek word for wisdom. Sofia is located at the foothill of Mount Vitosha, which is one of the oldest national parks in the Balkans. The main attractions of this Bulgarian metropolis are Boyana Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Church of Saint Sofia, Ivan Vazov National Theater, National Museum of Military History, National Institute of Archaeology with Museum and others.
